At Rasdoro, your privacy is our top priority. We designed our Student OS with an offline-first architecture, meaning your study data is processed locally on your device before syncing securely to our cloud. We only collect the data absolutely necessary to provide you with a world-class academic operating system.
Why we need App Blocking Permissions
To operate the Distraction Guard on Android, Rasdoro requires Accessibility Services and Usage Access permissions.
Usage Access: Used solely to detect when a distracting app (like Instagram or TikTok) is opened.
Accessibility Service: Used to overlay the block screen instantly when you try to open a locked app during a focus session.
Strict Privacy Guarantee: We do NOT track your browsing history, we do NOT read your messages, and we do NOT send your app usage data to our servers. The blocking mechanism works 100% locally on your device.
On Android, optional Distraction Guard and Exam Mode can use Usage Access, Accessibility Service, installed-app visibility, an overlay, notifications, background operation, and Device Admin to enforce study limits that you choose. These capabilities are used only for blocking, progress, reminders, and the preparation contract; they are not used for advertising.
Installed apps: used to let you select apps to block. The inventory is not sold or shared for advertising or analytics.
Usage and Accessibility: used locally to measure selected-app foreground time and close selected apps or matching browser pages. Rasdoro does not use these services to read messages or passwords.
Notification Access: optional and used only to dismiss notifications from selected distracting apps during an active rule. Notification content is not stored or uploaded by this feature.
Local VPN: optional website blocking reads DNS requests locally to block only domains you selected. Rasdoro does not send browsing or DNS history to its servers.
Overlay, battery and Device Admin: optional Android controls used to show a block screen, keep an active rule running, and protect an explicitly activated preparation contract from uninstall.
Camera & Audio Permissions
Rasdoro includes a Focus Room feature that allows you to study virtually with your friends for accountability.
Camera & Microphone: Required only when you actively join a Focus Room with video or audio enabled.
No Recording: We do not record, store, or monitor your video and audio streams. The transmission is securely encrypted (DTLS-SRTP) and routed either directly between participants or through our own Rasdoro media servers to the participants in your room.
Data Security
Your academic data (tasks, syllabus progress, timers) is protected by Rasdoro's authenticated backend and private PostgreSQL infrastructure. Passwords are cryptographically hashed, and every request is authorized server-side so only you can access your personal study data.
